Position Duties: The Supported Employment and Living Service is looking for two part time Supported Employment Specialists I. Supported Employment and Living Services (SELS) is a division of Mat-Su Services for Children and Adults serving residents of the Mat-Su Valley who experience developmental disabilities.

This position will provide support and training for people with developmental disabilities to maintain successful employment at various locations. Various duties will be expected including direct job skill training with individuals; monitoring and documenting the individual(s) progress and employer satisfaction; participating in developing support plans for the individual(s); providing transportation to and from work for the individual(s). Your hours will vary.

Nights and weekend shifts will be required. 10-20 hours a week, plus on call hours. Salary $10-$12 per hour DOE.

Minimum Qualifications: Must have 6 months experience providing services for persons with developmental disabilities. Experience can be job, volunteer or life experience. Supported Employment experience strongly preferred. Must have a High School Diploma, GED or provide proof of ability to read written instructions and make appropriate chart notes.

Notes: Must have a valid driver’s license with six years driving experience. Must provide proof of current automobile insurance prior to employment. Must consent to a criminal background check and provide 2 clear fingerprint cards before hire. Must provide 5 references. Must possess the physical, mental and emotional capabilities needed to fulfill the job requirements of the specific services provided to each individual.
